In partnership with the Frontier Tech Hub, the FCDO is exploring the adoption of novel nature-based technology by yam farmers in Ghana to protect and increase crop yields. This pilot aims to carry out research with a range of agricultural actors, (including farmers, co-operative, agricultural extensions workers, etc.) to understand the potential for, and what is required to effectively pilot the use of treated banana-fibre paper for the application of protecting white yam from parasitic nematodes in Ghana.
Through this pilot we intend to conduct field research, exploring barriers to adoption by farmers and mapping sentiments towards the proposed technology. A further key objective is to identify a model for how the solution could be scaled and made accessible to farmers, and research conducted under this SoW should aid this goal.
To apply for this opportunity, please submit a proposal by the 9th of December 2024 08:00 GMT, to Frontiertechhub@dt-global.com (with “FT Hub – Call 9 – Banana Fibre Paper’s Protecting Yams” in the subject line).
A written proposal including:
I. A short cover letter (no more than 400 words).
II. A description of how you would approach the scope of work (8 pages)
III. A budget breakdown
