Abstract:

Enigyie Aba Organic Pesticide is an edible, organic, and eco-friendly pesticide developed using locally sourced plant extracts. It provides a safe and effective alternative to synthetic pesticides, targeting common pests affecting vegetable crops without harming the environment or human health. The product is formulated to be fast-acting, biodegradable, and safe for consumption, making it ideal for organic farming and sustainable agriculture in Ghana and beyond.

Gap addressed:

Enigyie Aba addresses the critical issue of pesticide poisoning, environmental degradation, and crop contamination caused by synthetic agrochemicals. There is a lack of safe, affordable, and effective organic pest control options for smallholder farmers in Ghana and West Africa at large.

Sector/Industry focus:

▪ Agriculture (Crop Protection)
▪ Agribusiness and Agro-processing
▪ Organic farming and food safety

Potential uptake or practical application:

▪ Use by smallholder and commercial vegetable farmers.
▪ Integration into sustainable farming schemes and agroecology programs.
▪ Sales through agro-input shops, cooperatives, and agricultural extension services.
▪ Export potential for countries seeking organic pest control solutions.

Key recommendations:

▪ Facilitate large-scale farmer demonstrations and advertisement.
▪ Provide grants or investment for scaling production capacity and distribution.
